Ind. Green: Ron Fisher

District: The 8th Congressional District includes Alexandria City, Arlington County, Falls Church City, and parts of Fairfax County (see map). About 21% of the District's voters live in Alexandria.

Nomination: Murray won a narrow victory over Matthew Berry of Arlington in the GOP primary for Congress on June 8 (see results). We appreciate Berry's energetic campaign.

Several other candidates had earlier announced for the seat, but withdrew before the filing deadline:
Chris Hubbard of Alexandria; Laurence Socci of Fairfax Co., Will Radle of Fairfax Co., Deb Madrell of Fairfax Co., Mark Ellmore of Fairfax Co., and Mike Maibach of Alexandria.

Candidates welcome! We encourage prospective GOP candidates for any public office in 2010 (or beyond) to contact us.
