Campaign 2008

Get involved in '08!

Alexandria voters will cast votes for President, U.S. Senate and Congress in 2008. The general election will be Tuesday, November 4. Absentee voting begins on September 22.

Alexandria Republicans are proud to support our GOP ticket for 2008:

  • For President: John McCain and Vice President: Sarah Palin
  • For U.S. Senate: Jim Gilmore
  • For Congress: Mark Ellmore

Earlier this year, City Republicans selected party officers for the City Committee (in Feb.), and participated in the 8th District and State Republican Conventions (in May). Voters in District "B" also elected a new School Board member in August (a non-partisan election).

For City School Board

A special election will be held Tue., Aug. 12, to elect a new School Board member from Distirct "B" (precincts #201-210, see list). The new member will fill out the term of Claire Eberwein, who resigned in May 2008 as her family moved out of the area.

Four candidates filed petitions and will be on the ballot:

School Board elections are non-partisan. We encourage voters in District B to learn about the candidates and vote on Aug. 12. Polls are open from 6 am to 7 pm. Absentee voting is also available (see details).
